Hero Sprint Club – Summer 2026 Season Outline

Season Starts: June 1, 2026

Our Mission

To empower youth through track & field by providing elite-level training, mentorship, and opportunities to compete at the highest levels—all in a positive, family-first environment.


Objectives

  • Create a safe environment

  • Learn the fundamentals thru drills

  • Learn the rules of track and field

  • Help athletes become fit and wise

  • Build character

Participation

  • Consent Agreement

  • Copy of Birth Certificate

  • Copy of Physical Exam

Affiliations

  • Amateur Athletic Union (AAU)

  • United States of America Track & Field (USATF)

  • Registration for both memberships will be completed by HERO coaches/staff

  • Membership cards will be emailed and/or mailed to your home address

Qualifying Standards

The following benchmarks help guide us in building a competitive team ready to represent Hero Sprint Club at the regional and national levels. They are not strict cutoffs but reflect the performance levels typical of athletes ready for high-level competition. Coaches will also consider attitude, effort, attendance, and growth potential.

2026 Summer Schedule 

  • 6/6 - USATF Association Meet, Centre College, Danville, KY

  • 6/13 - AAU Kentucky District Qualifier, Ballard HS, Louisville, KY

  • 6/25 - 6/27 - AAU Region 6, Hardin Valley Academy, Knoxville, TN

  • 7/10 - 7/12 - USATF Region 5 Championships, Oberlin, OH

  • 7/27 - 8/2 - USATF National Junior Olympic Championship, Norwalk, CA

Practice

  • Locations: Jeffersonville High School(Jeffersonville, IN) & Scribner Middle School(New Albany, IN)

  • Alternative Locations: New Albany Amphitheater 

  • Summer Training: Monday, Tuesday, (some Wednesdays), Thursday, Friday, 6:00p - 7:30p

  • Athletes are responsible for transportation to and from practice

  • Promptness is expected

  • Bring your own water

Communication

  • All team communication will be organized through our Band group

  • Athletes and parents will be added once they have registered

  • Download the Band App here 

Training Essentials

  • Proper training shoes (highly recommend buying from running store, go to Pacers & Racers in Jeffersonville or New Albany, IN and receive 15% discount)

  • Spikes

  • Oversized insulated water bottle

  • Yoga mat

  • Foam roller

  • Resistance rubber bands

Additional Fees

  • Uniform Fee - $69 for New Balance singlet

Non-profit / 501c3 status
